Managing Insurances in Online Scheduling

Adit’s Online Scheduling Insurance Settings allow practices to control how insurance information is collected from new patients when booking an appointment online.
This article explains what each toggle means and how it impacts your patient booking flow,

How to Find the Insurance Page:

  1. Navigate to the Online Scheduling Module.
  2. In the left navigation menu, select Insurances.

Out of Network Insurance Toggle:

InfoIf set to NO: then any patients who select an insurance that’s considered “Out-Of-Network” won’t be able to book an appointment.
    1. Note: You can set your In Network and Out of Network Insurances
    2. In the GIF below, this is what the patient would see when attempting to book with an Insurance that’s out of network

  1. InfoIf set to YES: Then even if patients select an insurance that’s considered “Out-Of-Network” they will still be allowed to book an appointment.

Cash Patient Toggle

InfoIf set to NO: Patients who select “I Don’t Have Insurance” won’t be able to book an appointment. This option will ONLY allow patients who have an insurance to book.
    1. In the GIF below, this is what the patient would see when booking without insurance

  1. InfoIf set to YES: Patients can book an appointment even if they don’t have any insurance.

Fee for Service Toggle

Info
  1. If set to YES: Patients who select “I Have Insurance” will not be allowed to book an appointment. This option will ONLY allow cash patients to book.

  2. If set to NO: Patients can book an appointment regardless of if they are cash or insurance

    1. Note: You cannot toggle both “Do not accept patients without insurance” and “Fee-for-service”.
    2. This would create an error because the system would block both insurance and cash patients.

Setting Insurances as Out-of-Network or In-Network

The Insurance Chart below allows practices to easily choose which insurance carriers they accept as In-Network and which should be listed as Out-of-Network.
  1. To move an insurance carrier to be In-Network, click on the plus icon next to the Insurance Carrier’s name.
  2. To move an insurance carrier to be Out-of-Network, click on the delete icon on the right side of the Carrier’s name
