Managing Deleted User's Tasks in Adit
When a user is removed from your
organization in Adit, their assigned tasks don’t get deleted. Instead, Adit
reassigns and organizes them to ensure that no important work is lost. This
article explains what happens to deleted users’ tasks and how to manage them.
What Happens When a User Is Deleted?
When a user is deleted from your
organization in Adit:
● All open tasks previously assigned to that user remain active
● Adit automatically creates a new project titled: "[User Name]’s
Previously Assigned Tasks"
● This project helps you to:
○ Quickly access the deleted user’s
tasks
○ Review their tasks in one place
○ Reassign or complete them as
needed

Note: Tasks in this project are not deleted or completed.
They remain open until manually updated.
Where to Find These Tasks
To access a deleted user’s tasks:
Go to the Tasks module from the left navigation panel.
Click on the
Projects tab.
Search for
the project titled: "[User Name]’s Previously Assigned Tasks"
Open the
project to view all tasks that were previously assigned to the deleted
user.
Once you have located the project, here’s what you can do to clean it up: complete any finished tasks, or reassign them to other team members for follow-up.
Completing a Task
To mark a task as completed:
Open the task by clicking on it from any list or project view.
Click the
checkbox next to the task name or at the top of the task details panel.
The task will be marked as Completed, but it will still remain
visible for reference within the project.
Reassigning a Task
To reassign a task to another team
member:
Open the task from the “Previously Assigned Tasks” project or task
list.
In the task
details panel, locate the Assignee field.
Click the
current value (which will likely show as “Unassigned”).
Select the
new team member from the dropdown list.
Changes are saved automatically.
Deleting a Task
If you want to manually delete a task,
follow these steps:
- Open the Task Module: Go to the left sidebar
and click on Tasks.
- Click on My Tasks: Select My Tasks to view your personal task
list.

- Select the Task to delete: Click on the task you
want to delete (e.g., “Test”). Task details will appear on the right-hand side.

- Click More options: In the task detail view,
click
on the More (⋯) icon at the top.
- Choose Delete Task: From the dropdown menu, click Delete Task.

- Confirm Deletion: A confirmation pop-up
will appear. Click Delete Task to permanently delete it.

Best Practices
● Always review the “Previously
Assigned Tasks” project after a user is deleted. This ensures tasks are
reassigned appropriately.
● Use the Unassigned Tasks filter in
the Tasks module to quickly locate and redistribute work.
● Avoid deleting tasks unless they
are duplicates or irrelevant, as deleted tasks cannot be recovered.
