Call Forwarding from previous provider to Adit

Call Forwarding from previous provider to Adit

To ensure you continue receiving incoming calls while your phone numbers are being ported to Adit Voice, you can temporarily forward your existing office phone number(s) to the Adit temporary routing number provided by your Onboarding manager.

This guide includes step-by-step instructions for phone service providers to help you configure network-level call forwarding. Once enabled, your current provider will automatically redirect incoming calls to Adit, allowing your practice to continue receiving calls without interruption while the port is in progress.

Before You Begin

  • Obtain your Adit temporary routing number from your Adit onboarding manager.

  • Ensure you have administrator access to your current phone provider's portal (if applicable).

  • Configure call forwarding before your scheduled port date to avoid any disruption in service.

  • After enabling call forwarding, place a few test calls from an external number to confirm that calls are reaching your Adit system.

Note: Call forwarding remains active with your current provider until your phone numbers are successfully ported to Adit Voice. Once the port is complete, calls will route directly to Adit, and any temporary forwarding can be removed if it has not already been disabled automatically.

Weave

If you're using the Weave Desktop App, here's how to forward calls:

  1. Open the Weave Desktop App and sign in.

  2. Click on your profile picture/avatar, or the Settings (gear) icon.

  3. Go to Phone or Call Settings (the exact wording may vary slightly depending on your version).

  4. Look for Call Forwarding or Forward Calls.

  5. Turn on call forwarding and Select the phone number you want incoming calls forwarded to, or add a new number by selecting + New Number at the bottom of the pop-up window.

  6. Click Save or Apply.

Don't see the call forwarding option? This can happen if:

  • Your Weave user account doesn't have permission to set up call forwarding.

  • Your practice's calls are routed a different way, managed by an administrator.

  • The setting needs to be turned on from the Weave Admin Portal instead of the desktop app.

Note: These steps are for forwarding all your incoming calls. If you instead want to transfer a call you're currently on to someone else, that's a different process — just let us know and we can walk you through it.

Having trouble? Call Weave Support at 866-519-3684, then press 1, then 2 to speak with a real person.

Tip: Ask Weave support to send a message to their "L2 technician" about a call forwarding issue and inform we need forwarding set up on their backend for both open and closed hours, as a permanent setting.

HTC's forwarding behavior may only support one active forwarded inbound call at a time. If your office is already on a forwarded call and another inbound call arrives, the additional caller(s) may receive a busy signal instead of being forwarded.Once your phone numbers have successfully ported to Adit Voice, this limitation no longer applies, and Adit will handle multiple simultaneous inbound calls based on your call flow and available users.
