How To: Check the Status of an Insurance Verification

Since Insurance Verifications are primarily performed by the Adit team, we utilize a number of statuses to keep you informed of where each verification is in its lifecycle. You can easily check on the status of a verification in the RCM module.

On the Verifications page, you’ll find a Verification Status column with a color-coded status for each verification. To the right is a Detail column that will contain any important information pertaining to that verification, such as the reason it failed or a quick note about the result.

Below are the statuses you might see on the Verifications page:
  1. Not Verified - This patient has an upcoming appointment, but it has not reached the trigger date to start the verification.
  2. Open - The verification is open and the Adit team will take action on it.
  3. Rejected (Adit) - The verification was rejected by Adit because there was insufficient information to attempt the verification. This status can also automatically trigger a text or email message to your patient to ask for any missing insurance information. You may need to take action on this verification.
  4. Verified (Adit) - Successfully verified by Adit. Clicking on this verification will open a PDF of the results.
  5. Verified (JD) - Successfully verified by someone at your practice. The initials in parentheses are the initials of the user who submitted the verification in Verifications screen of your Adit platform.
  6. Failed (Adit) - Adit attempted to verify this patient but was unable to do so. The reason will be stated in the Detail column on the Verifications screen. You should take action on this verification.
  7. Failed (JD) - A member of your practice attempted to verify this patient but was unable to do so. The reason will be stated in the Detail column on the Verifications screen. The initials in parentheses are the initials of the user who submitted the verification in Verifications screen of your Adit platform.
  8. Canceled - A member of your practice indicated that this verification is not needed and cancelled the request.
  9. On Hold - Adit was unable to attempt this verification. The reason will be stated in the Detail column on the Verifications screen. You should take action on this verification.
