How to Check the Eligibility Status of an Insurance Verification in Adit

How to Check the Eligibility Status of an Insurance Verification in Adit

Insurance verifications in Adit are primarily handled by the Adit team, but your practice team can easily check the real-time progress and status of each verification through the RCM module.

Where to Check Insurance Status

  1. Go to the left navigation menu in Adit and select RCM > Verifications.

  2. Use the date picker in the top-right to select the desired date range to filter the verifications by appointment date.

  3. The page displays a searchable and filterable table with the following key columns:

  • Verification Status

  • Eligibility Status

  • Details (includes failure reasons, next steps, etc.)

Eligibility Status Categories

The Eligibility Status indicates the current standing of a patient’s insurance policy. Below are the possible statuses and what they mean:

The patient’s insurance is valid and confirmed.

Associated Verification Statuses:

  • Verified (Adit): Successfully verified by Adit. (PDF available)

  • Verified (Practice User): Verified by your team. Staff initials are shown.

  • Hard Verified: Fully confirmed with all details manually.

  • Soft Verified: Verified via automation.

  • Soft Partially Verified: Some, but not all, data confirmed by automation.

The patient’s insurance is no longer active.

Associated Verification Statuses:

  • Soft Verified (Termed) : Status confirmed but indicates terminated policy.

Note: These were previously marked under “Failed” or “Soft Verify Failed” but are now tracked as “Termed” since verification technically succeeded.

The eligibility could not be determined.

Associated Verification Statuses:

  • Not Verified: Trigger not initiated or incomplete.

  • Rejected (Adit): Verification attempt failed due to missing/incomplete info.

  • Failed (Adit/Practice): Attempted but failed; reason shown in "Details."

  • Soft Verify Failed: Software verification failed.

  • On Hold:  Unable to proceed; check the “Details” column.

  • Skipped: Deliberately skipped (e.g., cash/in-house cases).

  • In Progress:  Currently processing through automation.

  • Open Status: Adit team will review it manually.

  • Expired: Appointment date passed before verification could complete.

  • Canceled: Practice canceled the verification manually.

Color Code Updates (New)

  • Soft Verified: Now shown in green (was previously blue).

  • Soft Partially Verified: Also updated to match green schema.

  • Termed: Introduced with its own color and status grouping.
