Editing a Subscription Plan

You can edit or update a subscription plan.

    1. If the plan is not active yet, you will be redirected to the subscription plan set up page to update your changes.

    2. If the plan is already active, you will be redirected to the plan detail page

  2. From the plan detail page, click on the blue pencil icon again to open up the pop up.

    1. The fields you can edit are:

      1. Plan Name

      2. Description

      3. Frequency

      4. Start Date

      5. Expiry Date

      6. Recurring Payment

    2. Once your enter in your updated fields, click on Next

    3. The next pop up will show all of the fields that were updated in red text. Click on Confirm

    4. Now the plan will update according to your changes.

    5. Please note:

      1. If you change the start date of a subscription plan, the following updates would happen depending on the scenarios:

        1. Example 1:

          1. Start Date is Sep 1

          2. Recurring Monthly Amount is $500

            1. On Aug 30, the start date is changed from Sep 1 to Sep 2

            2. In this scenario, since the plan hasn’t started yet, the first payment will run on Sep 2.

        2. Example 2:

          1. Start Date is Sep 1

          2. Recurring Monthly Amount is $500

            1. On Sept 15, the start date changes from Sep 1 to Sep 30

            2. In this scenario, the first payment has already executed on Sep 1, and the next date is supposed to be Oct 1.

            3. Now, the second payment will run on Sep 30 instead and each payment afterwards will be on the 30th.

            4. Installment 1 - Sep 1 $500 Paid

            5. Installment 2 - Oct 30 $500 Scheduled

            6. Installment 3 - Nov 30 $500 Scheduled

        3. Example 3:

          1. Start Date is Sep 1

          2. Recurring Monthly Amount is $500

            1. On Sep 15, the start date is changed from Sep 1 to Sep 10

            2. In this scenario, the first installment has already executed on Sep 1, and the next date that payment will run on is Oct 10.

            3. This is because the plan is updated on Sep 15, which is after the Sep 10 date. So the payment would run on the next billing date instead.

            4. Installment 1 - Sep 1 $500 Paid

            5. Installment 2 - Oct 10 $500 Scheduled

            6. Installment 3 - Nov 10 $500 Scheduled

        4. Example 4:

          1. Start Date is Sep 1

          2. Recurring Monthly Amount is $500

            1. On Sep 15, an attempt is made to change the start date from Sep 1 to Aug 15.

            2. This would not be possible, because Aug 15 is before the initial start date of Sep 1 and is in the past.

  1. If a subscription plan has any outstanding payment requests, even if you edit the subscription plan, these unpaid requests will be unaffected.

** Note: this is very different from how payment plans works.
