Configure Spanish reminders

The Engage module is able to translate your automated reminders into Spanish for patients who have Spanish set as their preferred language in your EHR software.


To configure a reminder in Spanish:

  1. Navigate to the Engage module.

  2. In the top navigation menu, hover over Auto-Reminders, and select the type of reminder you would like to set up in Spanish.  If you don’t see this option in the menu, click the three dots to view the rest of the menu options.

  3. Select the reminder you want to update and click the Edit icon.

  4. Scroll down to Spanish Auto-Reminders? and toggle the option on.

  5. The Edit Text Messages section will now have a separate space for English and for Spanish.

  6. Click into the Spanish message text and update the auto-generated translation as needed.

  7. Click the Save button to save your changes.


In order to send a Spanish reminder to a patient, the patient’s profile in your EHR software must have their preferred language set to Spanish.

 If you are using Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or EZ Dental, you simply need to include the keyword “Spanish” in the memo/notes field. You can be as specific as you’d like - “Patient only speaks Spanish” or “Preferred Language: Spanish” are all acceptable variations.


If you are using any other integrated software, please contact your EHR software vendor for support setting up preferred languages.
