Automatically pop up a Patient Card for incoming callers
Your Adit Desktop app can perform a patient search automatically every time a call comes in - even if you take that call on your desk phone (hardphone) instead of the softphone! The Adit platform recognizes which patient is calling in to your extension and pulls up their Patient Card for you, so you have all of the patient's critical information at your fingertips.
This feature is only available for physical phones / hardphones in the Adit Desktop app. If you are using the Adit platform through your web browser, the Patient Card will only pop up automatically if you are taking the call on your softphone.
In order for this feature to work, you must link your Adit app user account to a physical phone extension. If you have not yet assigned a physical phone to your user account, take the following steps:
- Select the gear icon in the top right corner of your Adit page to go to Settings.
- Select Numbers from the top navigation bar.
- Select the name of your location in the left navigation bar, then Lines.
- Locate the Line you would like to assign to a user. Each Line corresponds to a physical phone.
- Select the Line number to edit it.
- In the User Assigned dropdown, select the user you would like to assign to this Line.
- Select the Update button to save your changes.
Be sure to set up each member of your staff with their own user login to utilize this feature!
Once you have linked your users to their respective hardphone lines, each user will need to select their hardphone / physical phone extension each time they log in to the Adit Desktop app. This ensures they can switch to a different extension when needed.
All accounts are opted IN to this feature automatically, but you can opt out if you choose. To turn off the automatic Patient Card pop for hardphone calls:
- Log in to your Adit Desktop app.
- Navigate to the Call Pop.
- Go to Preferences (within the Call Pop), then Communications.
- Change the option for "Show call pop for calls picked up from associated hardphone(s)?" to No.
